Digital Portfolio

Various examples below of completed works throughout my University studies.

Set Design
'Strata Story Project'

I worked on a commercial project as a set designer creating designs for 10 unique short videos. My role included providing drawings, constructing sets and buying props and furniture.

Technical Drawing

I have used a variety of methods to create technical drawings that have aided me when model making. Initially, I drew them by hand but have since learnt how to use VectorWorks which gives a much more professional finish and speeds up the process.

Model Making

White model making was something I have always enjoyed. Building miniature replicas and scaled sets is enjoyable and extremely rewarding. I have created models with 1:20 and 1:50 scales and used a variety of materials including foam board, card, 3D printing and laser cutting.

Concept Art & Digital Models

At the start, I drew all concept art physically with 'old fashioned' paper, pencil, markers and water colours. I have progressed to create digital visuals with softwares including Pro Create (iOS) and Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator and finally I found the most effective being 3D rendering with Twinmotion as it allowed me to create multiple visuals at different camera angles without having to redraw the whole visual.

Prop Design

Multiple projects at University required the design of a prop. This was difficult initially as I have had little experience with the prop design process. Receiving feedback from my tutors has helped me in designing striking props with added textures and details.

Storyboarding

Storyboarding can often be a challenge, however, it is a crucial step in the design process. Understanding the structure of a scene and how is expected to flow assists the technical design process.
